Here at A Gift of Happiness we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to become part of our small but dynamic team. We pride ourselves on designing and creating a unique range of high-quality personalised gifts, which we distribute all over the world through various online marketplaces and our own website.

We currently have an opening for a creative assistant. We believe this role presents an exciting opportunity to join a growing company, offering tremendous potential for personal and professional growth for the right person as our business flourishes.

No prior experience? No worries! We provide comprehensive training to ensure you have all the tools you need to succeed.

Initial Responsibilities

The role will involve assisting in various areas, including:

  • Preparing stock
  • Performing general administrative tasks such as printing and organising order paperwork
  • Creating and editing digital artwork using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other creative software (full training will be provided)
  • Handling order processing, including making, printing, packaging, and dispatching orders
  • Generating dispatch labels through our online systems
  • Organising parcels for courier collection, ensuring timely preparation in accordance with scheduled collection times
  • Customer service duties, including responding to emails, answering phone calls, and managing social media messages
  • Inspecting and maintaining printing equipment, addressing, or reporting any issues
  • Undertaking general operational duties, such as building packaging boxes and loading printers etc
  • Assisting with other miscellaneous tasks, including cleaning, washing-up, and making coffees. As a small team, we all contribute to maintaining an organised, clean, and tidy studio space
  • Opportunities to contribute to the design process for new and future products

  • Basic IT skills (Full training will be provided on our software, as needed)

  • Willingness to contribute and assist during busy periods, including overtime during peak seasons—an essential requirement
  • Achieving and surpassing all assigned targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Adhering to our core values and exhibiting corresponding behaviours

The Detail

Age: 18+

Contract Type: Fixed-term contract. Initially, a temporary 6-month contract with the potential for a permanent position after 6 to 12 months. There is an opportunity for progression for the right candidate

Number of vacancies: 1

Starting date: As soon as possible

Salary: Between £15,580 and £21,673 per year. The salary will depend on age and experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. There may be a requirement to work on bank holidays and weekends during busy periods, which will be paid as overtime

Place of work: Unit based in Featherstone (working from home is not available)

Holiday: 28 days of annual leave per year, inclusive of 8 Bank Holidays

Pension: Nest Pension Scheme available for permanent positions
