Private & Temporary Email Services
Why We Ask for a Reachable Email Address
At A Gift of Happiness, almost our entire range of products require personalisation. Sometimes, we may need to contact you for additional information or artwork approval before we create your final product. Which is why we need an email address that we can reliably reach you on is so important to us.
Hopefully, this page should give you a little bit more information about why we can’t accept private relay or temporary email addresses at checkout.
Why Some Email Addresses Won’t Work
Certain email services are designed to protect your identity by masking your real address. While this can be great for privacy in general, it presents some challenges when ordering a personalised item from us:
- We can’t guarantee that you’ll receive your proof. These addresses sometimes block image attachments or expire after a short time.
- Replies often go nowhere. If you respond to our proof with feedback, we may never receive it—or it might come from a different address entirely.
- We don’t know how to reach you if something changes. For example, if there’s a delay or important question about your order.
Email Services We Cannot Accept
Currently, we don’t allow the use of the following types of email addresses at the checkout.
Private Email Addresses
These services are designed to hide your real email address, often by forwarding messages through a temporary or masked address. We see significant delivery issues with these—often customers simply don’t receive our emails at all.
- @privaterelay.appleid.com – Apple Private Relay
- @duck.com – DuckDuckGo Email Protection
- @mozmail.com – Firefox Relay
Temporary Email Addresses
These are short-lived inboxes created just for quick signups. They’re designed to be thrown away, so we can’t guarantee you’ll receive any email from us.
- @10minutemail.com – 10MinuteMail
- @tempmail.org / @tmpmail.net – TempMail
We Respect Your Privacy
We totally understand wanting to protect your personal information—privacy matters to us, too. That’s why we only email you when it’s necessary to complete your order, such as:
- Asking for confirmation or clarification about your order details.
- To send you a digital proof if necessary.
- Following up on your approval or changes.
- Notifying you of dispatch or delivery details.
We will never use your email address for marketing unless you specifically opt in.
Still Have Questions?
If you’re unsure whether your email address is okay to use or need help placing your order, we’re always here to help.
